As far as you may know, it's not easy to download game soundtracks on Steam. In order to create the best experience for the users, Valve has been working on a new type of app that allows its customers to buy game soundtracks even when they do not download the original games. This tool is designed to have the audio files easily stored in Steam collection which are categorized according to their music folders, not their initial games. Moreover, those game soundtracks not updated on the app still can be sold by the co-developers. Theoretically, the music used exclusively in Epic Game Store could be publically sold on the app.

In terms of quality, users should not be worried because they are making improvements to every single soundtrack. Specifically, there will be a new interface that musicians can provide their customers with high-quality audio files like FLAC or WAV, not MP3 only.
According to the app creators, the upgraded features will be probably introduced on January 20th. Fortunately, users do not have to worry about their soundtracks downloaded before owing to a converting tool that can help them transform from DLC-oriented files to standalone ones. And obviously, the new editions will still be available in customers’ libraries.

In spite of the fact that all of the upcoming improvements will not help Valve open their own music store, their products have been welcomed and expected to pioneer the new path of game soundtracks. Now one does not need to play a game to enjoy its beautiful melody, but he can listen to it everywhere he wants. Thanks to the great new app, the game soundtrack producers can make a profit from their music without seeing them dwarfed by its original game.
