Telecommunications equipment manufacturers from China have been facing accusations over security risks. DoT (India's Department Of Telecom) said they would carefully study and consider this issue to protect the security of its home country.
Developed countries like New Zealand, the United States and Australia have made their opinions about limiting the use of electronic devices provided by manufacturers from China. Just recently, electronic brand Huawei, has been rejected by many developed markets.
In an interview about the launch of the first semiconductor chip manufactured in India by Signalchip, Aruna Sundararajan, the Minister of Telecommunications said:
Huawei is one of the world's largest brands of telecommunications equipment makers from China. The US government has alleged that national security information, internet traffic, and global calls may be eavesdropped and collected by Chinese manufacturers' equipment.
But not many countries in the world are convinced as Germany has stated that it isn't ready to boycott Huawei.
In India, one of the largest telecom operators - Vodafone Idea has announced that they will comply with all government decisions. Therefore, the destiny of communication devices from Chinese suppliers such as Huawei will belong to the government's decision-making power after they have studied carefully.
Vishant Vora, Chief Technology Officer of Vodafone Idea, said following the government's decision to ensure India's national and strategic security protection is the right thing to do.
The International Chamber of Commerce, Sunil Bharti Mittal also spoke up on this issue last Tuesday. He said:
Sundararajan also talked about the 5G trials. She said, in order to provide the best framework for 5G trials, a committee has been set up.
According to Mittal:
