Apple’s latest iOS updates come bringing all kinds of bugs and issues. The situation is so gloomy that the company has to cut the releasing time for iOS 13.1 short by a week in the hope to fix these problems. Different users may have a different experience with the bugs, but for fans of PUBG Mobile and Fortnite, two world-wide famous battle royale titles, it means passing a few days without being able to play the games properly on their devices.
With these two titles, along with many others, players control the in-game characters through a system of touch inputs. The issue here is, in iOS 13, users can use a combination of three-finger, press-and-hold gesture to edit text on the device.

Ever since the official release, players of PUBG Mobile and Fortnite have been complaining that the gestures totally ruined the gameplay. What people usually do when playing these two titles is to place two fingers on the screen to control the characters and the camera, all while keeping a third finger arched across the screen to do some other actions. This is a quite common tactic and they even have names for it, which is 'claw grip' or 'claw.'

That combination will also conjure the text editing bar on an iOS device, and with games like Fortnite and PUBG Mobile, players do not exactly have time to wipe away the box and resume to whatever they were doing, especially when they are facing another human player.
Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, has given comment on Reddit regarding this matter. Their Community coordinator said that:

For PUBG Mobile, Tencent added a notice inside the game telling players of issues and said that they should not update:

Many users of iOS 13.1 beta have confirmed that the issue still showed up in this update of the software. What Epic Games' coordinator said about 13.1 should have this issue fixed was also back by PUBG MOBILE Team.
People have their own theory on how Apple intends to solve the problem. One goes like this, the editing tool may only appear when users use the hand gesture after they tapped inside a text box. Some users have tested this and confirmed that the tool is only displayed when they tap on the text box of Signal, Messages, and similar apps.

Whatever the outcome, it is not a piece of great news for Apple. Those who have not yet updated, do not do it. It will not only break your games but it can also expose your device’s contact list to hackers, courtesy of a security issue that ley bad actors bypass the lock screen.
So until we have iOS 13.1 released on the 24th of September, you had better skip iOS 13.
