PUBG Mobile India Comeback Likely Delayed As Govt Seeks To Extend China Apps Ban

It seems like Indian fans will have to wait for a while for the PUBG Mobile India launch.

It seems like PUBG Mobile fans in India will have to wait a bit longer for its release in the country. According to Livemint’s report, the Indian government has declined to reverse its ban on the famous battle royale game. It is a bit confusing since the parent company of PUBG Mobile has already parted ways with the Chinese giant Tencent and planned to release the game in the country on its own. In addition, the company is also said to be working on an exclusive version of the game for Indian fans.

Pubg Mobile India
It is unlikely that we will see PUBG Mobile coming back to India in the near future.

However, it appears that those plans are not enough as the Indian government seems to still be considering PUBG Mobile a Chinese-origin app. And that might be the main reason why the game hasn’t granted permission to come back to one of its biggest markets. Previously, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) stated in a response to two Right to Information applications filed by news media that the attempts PUBG Corporation has made are still not enough to convince the government that the game is safe for the Indian users.

In June 2020, the Indian government had banned 60 Chinese apps including TikTok and 118 apps including PUBG Mobile in September 2020. With this news, the hope of PUBG Mobile coming back to India in March is pretty much over.

Faug India
FAUG is expected to be one of PUBG Mobile's biggest rivals in India.

While waiting for its return, you can try FAUG, which has just been released in India. FAUG, in short for Fearless And United-Guards, is developed by a Bengaluru-based company called nCore Games. The game currently doesn’t offer a multiplayer mode, but it will likely come with future updates. You can download the game on Google Play Store. The FAUG game download side is around 460MB. You don’t need to sign-in with your Gmail or Facebook account to play and all you need is an Internet connection.
