Bharti Airtel Partners With Ericsson To Expand VoLTE Services In India

On Wednesday, Bharti Airtel announced that it has chosen Ericsson, the Swedish telco manufacturer, to broaden its voice over LTE services across India to additionally offer phone calls with HD quality for 4G smartphones as well as smartwatches.
Using the Cloud VoLTE solution from Ericsson, Airtel will deliver VoLTE service to a customer data center. According to Bharti Airtel Chief Technology Officer Randeep Sekhon, the company still commits to setting up a network for the future following the ‘Project Leap’ – the company’s program for network transformation. In addition, it also commits to offer the best digital experience of its class to its smartphone users.
As in ‘Project Leap’, Bharti Airtel is providing customers with innovative communication services. With the Cloud VoLTE solution from Ericsson, users can enjoy HD voice calls as well as modern communication service across various types of devices, via Wi-Fi, LTE, and the upcoming 5G networks.
The latest “Ericsson Mobility Report” said that there is likely over 780 million subscriptions to VoLTE services in India by 2023. Plus, VoLTE technology will set the ground to make 5G voice calls possible across different kinds of 5G devices.
