A similar scam has now made its way back into India again. You shouldn't believe any messages relating to Adidas's free shoes, as well as shouldn't click on any corresponding URL. Adidas does not give any offer like that.
In case you receive messages such as:
You should delete them immediately and not share such message. This very scam was in circulation last year with the message that says:
When clicking the URL in one of these messages, users will accidentally access a fake site named "anniversaries[dot]win." Similar Scams
These scam messages do not just aim at Adidas. In the past, Zara used to become a similar victim. In the festive season in 2018, hot deals and offers from both Amazon India and Flipkart were utilized as a chance for miscreants to spread scam messages. They made a fake campaign called 'Amazon sale' to trick buyers to reveal their private information. Accordingly, victims would receive messages that offered a 99-percent discount on many products and a link showing "Shop Now" which led them to a phishing website.
If you shouldn't become the next victim on WhatsApp or any other social network, remember that you shouldn't tap any link with similar content or you can reveal your login credentials and personal data without any awareness.
