Apple Will Make It Easier With Face ID, Touch ID Sign-in For iCloud

According to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple is likely to test a new sign-in way that uses FaceID and Touch ID, helping it easier for users to access the iCloud. The feature is currently under testing phase for iOS 13, iPadOS, and macOS Catalina beta.

For those are beta testers of operating systems listed above, once you pay a visit to iCloud.com, you'll be redirected to the alternative website beta.iCloud.com. From that, a window will pop up and you need to confirm if you want to sign in your iCloud account by Touch ID or Face ID, so you don't have to perform two-factor authentication.

As the report suggested, Apple is putting more effort into using biometric technology to help out the "sign-in with Apple" process. During the WWDC 2019, Apple had introduced the feature as a more secure and private log-in system for users when they want to log into apps.

If successful, the new method could give users the ability to access third-party apps instead of a conventional way that requires them to create a new account as well as password or simply use an existing credential. Of course, the feature is currently in must-have beta version but it's expected to be fully available in coming months.

Apple has taken a visual move for us to see that it is seriously focusing on users' privacy and data. The new "Sign in with Apple" is believed to help the tech giant be different from its rivals such as Facebook and Google. A few months ago, the Cupertino-based company also integrated more dedicated features into a number of services and products to ensure that nothing has to come at a cost, in terms of user privacy.
