Amazon India Says Over 65% Of Phone Buyers Come From Top 10 Cities

Within the recent 12-18 months, Amazon India has teamed up with lots of financial institutions and brands to undertake many initiatives to bring more affordable smartphones to its customers.

On September 25, Amazon India reported that more than 65% of phone buyers on its online shopping platform come from the top 10 of the biggest cities in India. The rural area does not seem to be familiar with using a smartphone yet. Most of them are looking for products manufactured by big brands such as Samsung, Apple, Vivo, and OnePlus.

The smartphone business in Amazon India has shown faster development than the industry.

In an interview with PTI, Noor Patel, the Director of Category Management at Amazon India, said that:

There has been an about 40-percent increase in mass phones from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000. Meanwhile, feature phones still have reached around 27% increase year-on-year. The Amazon India Director said:

Amazon plans to host the ‘Great Indian Festival’ sale during a week from September 29 to October 04.
