Xiaomi's new patent shows a smartphone with not only dual selfie cameras on the front but also has 2, 3 or even 5 sensors at the back.

The smartphone market is under fierce competition, especially in the mid-end and high-end segments. To get more market share, each brand needs to constantly innovate and improve the quality of their products. Therefore, manufacturers often spend a lot of time researching new designs. According to the report, Xiaomi has just recently been granted a patent for a smartphone with an extremely unique pop-up camera design. Notably, this pop-up camera cluster not only includes a dual selfie camera on the front but also has two, three or even five cameras at the back.

Xiaomi has patented a pop-up camera design with camera sensors on both the front and back.

All three smartphone designs in the patent have the same front, and the design of the camera is similar. The biggest difference is the number of sensors on the back, with the total number of cameras on the pop-up module can get up to 7 sensors, including 2 sensors on the front and 5 sensors on the back.

This is an extremely unique design and has never been seen before because no manufacturer has "stuffed" that many camera sensors into such a small space. Although Xiaomi is really planning to work on this one, the company has not confirmed the information about this device.

In the 2nd and 3rd designs, the rear camera cluster of this device also contains up to 3 and 5 sensors.

At the moment, many smartphone manufacturers are gradually abandoning the pop-up camera mechanism to switch to a new and more modern design. In addition, there are still many users who are skeptical about the durability of the pop-up camera, although the design has been used on quite a few smartphones.

Therefore, you should not expect a smartphone with such a design, because all we see here is still a patent and whether the manufacturer applies it in real life or not a completely different story.
