After they have done taken the iPhone 11 Pro apart in a previous teardown, iFixit now moves on to the iPhone 11 to see what goes on the inside of Apple’s newly-introduced device. Some of the highlights are the same logic board with its Pro variant and absolutely no clue of the bilateral wireless charging technology.
There are some interesting and never-seen-before features when doing the iPhone 11 Pro teardown. The board under the battery could be something that enables bilateral wireless charging, but we cannot be sure by now.
But when they took the iPhone 11 apart, iFixit did not find that same board on this device. It does not have features like improved thermal management either.
The X-ray image below shows what goes on the inside of the iPhone 11’s rear camera setup. We can see the wide-angle lens’s OIS (optical image stabilization), but the same function is absent on the ultra-wide lens.
This is the first time ever Apple gives its budget-friendly model the same logic board with the flagship ones. And all of the three devices have rectangular and compact double-decker design.
After the teardown, iPhone 11 was given a repairability score of 6/10 by iFixit. They also said that this phone is the iPhone XR with some of the tech found on iPhone 11 pro on the inside.
