Galaxy Note 20 Patent Suggests A Waterfall Screen, Projector, And A Hologram App

The hype around the Galaxy S20 is still here but Samsung shows no sign of slowing down with its flagship handsets. With the S20 lineup makes it to the market, now is the time to think about the Galaxy Note 20, which might have a waterfall screen that wraps the edges and spills over the buttons, as suggested by a recently spotted patent.

The waterfall screen seems to go far beyond anything we have ever seen on Note smartphones before. With such a display, there might be no room left for the volume rocker or the power button. However, from what we can see on the patent, these physical buttons will protrude from the screen itself.

This might be Samsung’s effort to differentiate the Galaxy Note 20 from other handsets in the Note lineup.

This year, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has made such an impression that it threatens the popularity of the Galaxy Note. Apart from the stylus, the Note has not much of a difference to compete with the S20 lineup.

However, in case the screen is not enough of a selling point to convince users to pay, Samsung has another secret weapon to use.

The patent reveals a grip sensor, similar to what is on the Pixel 4, a projector, and a hologram device. While a projector seems realistic, a hologram app makes some people doubt whether Samsung has the technology to make it possible.

Since the Galaxy Note lineup is quite appealing to businessmen, having a projector onboard will definitely emphasize that edge. This combines with the S-Pen, which can double as a clicker to change sliders, will make presenting easier.

As this is just a patent, we may have to wait and see who things go in the next few months. Take this news with a pinch of salt as you may or may not see these new features make it to the Galaxy Note 20.
