In the coming time, Tesla’s customers may have a chance to experience a “Remote Control” feature that is “almost ready”, according to Musk.

On January 22, in his Tweet, Elon Musk, the Tesla’s CEO said that the latest feature called Advanced Summon had gained the approval from “regulators.” Some made by Tesla cars offer a lot of advantages such as making turns, steering or changing lanes without manual control. And Advanced Summon must be another plus point for this brand.

In the coming time, Tesla’s customers may have a chance to experience a “Remote Control” feature that is “almost ready”, according to Musk. The first time he revealed it was from a Tweet on January 10 saying “getting some regulatory pushback.”

The Advanced Summon feature was first released three years ago, in 2016. At that time, it just leveraged the ultrasonic sensors to control the car around parking spaces. That means its functionality is still somewhat limited.

The 2019 feature is supposed to use the Autopilot cameras built in the car and support all Tesla cars manufactured in 2017-2018.

In November 2018, Elon Musk made a promise about the release of Advanced Summon, but Tesla had to delay it for some reasons. Until a few days ago, Musk just leaked the good news.

In all of his Tweets, Musk didn’t say anything relating to the “regulators”. What they are are still a secret. The Drive stated that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or NHTSA for short may not be the regulator he mentioned, due to the government shutdown.
