Twitter Is Reportedly Testing Search Bar For Its Direct Messages

Twitter has now tested the Search for Direct Messages feature; however, the company hasn’t yet revealed its official launch date.

The US social networking service Twitter has reportedly tested an option for the Direct Message section which helps its users to use a particular tab to look for some messages from other users.

As reported by Social Media Today on August 11, the famous tech blogger and app researcher Jane Manchun Wong said that with the new feature, users could easily find out particular messages through profile name.

On Twitter, Wong posted a video uncovering the company’s test of the new feature. She tweeted as below: “Twitter is working on Search for Direct Messages.”

She also said in her another tweet, “I feel like the contextual search will also be implemented in the future.”

When it comes to responses from netizens, it’s not difficult to understand why they have shown mixed reactions. Many felt disappointed with this feature, while many seemed happy with it. The feature, in fact, didn’t belong to the social networking service for a long time. And now, it is going to come back to the app.

Also on Wong’s Twitter account, “That’s how you make people celebrate a very basic and needed feature.”

At the beginning of July 2019, the online microblogging service introduced a new design for its platform’s desktop interface. Also, it has reportedly tested an option that allows its users to keep track of a tweet discussion and receive notifications whenever new replies are available.
