One of the well-known portals in the world, OpenSignal has recently released a new report about 4G availability in India. This report coverages about 50 major cities across the country. Interestingly, all of the cities on the table were measured and scored over 87% 4G Availability, which many mobile markets would be proud of.
Among the listed city, the top position is named to the city of Dhanbad which located in Jharkhand state. The city of Dhanbad is known as the coal capital of India. The mineral-rich city has scored 95.3% in 4g availability scale.

According to the “Hottest city for 4G Availability” report, Opensignal does not research in the geographic spread of the network. The research does measure the proportion of time that users owning 4g devices and subscription can get a network connection in their places.
For instance, if we have a 4g availability of 90%, we will be connected to 4g 90% of the time on that network. The report is based on data collected for November, December and January.
This means users in Dhanbad were connected to the 4G network 95.3 percent of the time. The runner-up in Opensignal ranking is Ranchi. It is slightly compared to Dhanbad and scored 95%. Notably, both Ranchi and Dhanbad are two cities in Jharkhand state.
On the other hand, there is no popular city in the top 10. Well-known names such as Bengaluru and Hyderabad has 92,3% score and 90.5% score respectively. Two most prominent metros, Delhi and Mumbai, just simultaneously sit on the bottom of the table with scores below the 90 percent mark.

Right now, the top three telecom operators in India are Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Jio. At the same time, they're aiming to stay ahead of others by providing better 4G coverage across the country. Thanks to the competition, we can actually expect to experience the best quality of the 4G network in the near future.
