If you have a nostalgia for the iconic click wheel of the iPod, there is a way for you to have a similar thing on your iPhone. This new app will bring the wheel to your touchscreen smartphone and its name is Rewound.
This music player can be found on the Apple App Store and what it can do is to apply downloadable skins to your device to make it looks like an iPod. The app can also sync with the library of Apple Music. The included haptic feedback is a nice touch, making the whole thing feels just like you are using the old iPod.

The developer behind this app, Louis Anslow, said that it was his one year-worth effort. He also shared that since the look of the device can be programmed, you can turn it to almost anything you want.
After users download the app, they can save some skins to transform the device. This sounds like a genius idea, as long as Apple does not decide to pull the app down. This way of working also allows additional skins to be added later.
For now, Rewound only has support for Apple Music but there is a plan to add Spotify later. Anslow also said that he is developing a widget for iOS that acts as a mini player.
Anslow is not the only one working on the idea of turning iPhones into something that looks just like an iPod. Another developer also interested in the design is Elvin Hu, who is still a student. His design will include the Cover Flow interface and the click wheel.
As Hu’s app is still work in progress, there is no guarantee that Apple will allow it on the App Store.
