Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet and Google, has made a donation of Rs 5 crore to Give India, a non-profit organization, matching the earlier Rs 5 crore donation of Google to the online donation platform.
Through its official Twitter account, the NGO expressed its gratitude towards Sundar Pichai and Google for their donation to support daily wage worker families who have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
So far, Give India has managed to raise more than Rs 12 crore to support vulnerable families around the country.
Last month, Pichai announced that the company would aid small and medium businesses, governments, health organizations, and health workers amid the COVID-19 by providing over $800 million.
This would include an ad grant of $250 million to support the World Health Organization and over 100 government agencies around the world to provide important and accurate info on how to contain the spread of the virus as well as other measures to assist the local communities.

In a statement, Pichai said that the grant was an increase from the initial $25 million that the company announced the previous month. The company would also be providing ad grants worth $20 million to NGOs and community financial institutions for announcements related to relief funds.
An investment fund of $200 million will be for the support of NGOs as well as financial institutions globally to provide access to capital to small businesses.
