Sam Altman Will Be No Longer The President Of Y Combinator

Altman will have more time to develop OpenAI, a non-profit company that specializes in researching artificial intelligence (AI).

On March 08, on its official blog, Y Combinator announced that Sam Altman will leave his current position as the president of the startup company. Accordingly, he will keep serving as a chairman at Y Combinator; however, some of his daily duties will be handled by other partners.

Sam Altman will be no longer the president of Y Combinator; however, he remains as its chairman.

The blog post also revealed that in the upcoming time, Altman will have more time to develop OpenAI, a non-profit company that specializes in researching artificial intelligence (AI). Two of the first co-founders of OpenAI include Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. Both of these characters are also co-founders of the online payment service PayPal.

In addition, in recent times, Tesla CEO Elon Musk decided to step down at the AI research company OpenAI due to his disagreement with how the company plans to operate and develop in the future.

The AI research company promises to bring the most prominent initiatives to humans.

Before Altman was the president of Y Combinator in 2014, Paul Graham had been the one to take this position.

As per Y Combinator, it has been always among the most impressive tech incubators in the home of global tech companies, Silicon Valley. The company has trained a variety of famous startups such as Dropbox, Stripe, Airbnb, and Twitch. In YC’s programs, these startups will have a chance to approach the first investment, further coaching and mentoring.

The program has kept growing rapidly under the leadership of Sam Altman. In addition to many initiatives, Y Combinator is now investing much in startups and implementing a potential program in China.

The representative of Y Combinator also revealed that Michael Seibel would keep holding his position as its CEO and be responsible for the core program at the company.
