The soaring gaming market is a priceless goldmine for any game publishers and developers, and everyone now has to choose the right partner in the industry to soon take a considerable slice of the cake. We’ve seen collaborations between brands and manufacturers who aim to customize their products into gaming-focused devices. To meet the need of gaming-era consumers, Apple is reportedly working on a gaming-centered Mac model.
Rumors about this news have flown around, and some said the new Mac could be announced ahead of next year’s WWDC event. These predictions are derived from sources in Taiwan, talking about a brand-new gaming Mac that is tailored for the mushrooming of the e-sports market across the globe. Moreover, users will likely have to be set back around $5,000 for a device.
Although the rumors claimed that it’ll be an all-in-one product, it remains unclear whether the gaming Mac will appear in the form of a desktop device or a high-end MacBook Pro. Regardless of decent hardware, upgrading MacBooks with professional features for working is unlikely to happen, adding the fact that Apple will also have to update the macOS. Additionally, AMD GPUs packed inside MacBooks seem to be another hiccup. Based on said reasons, it’s evident to witness a macOS-based gaming-focused desktop in the near future.
To remind, Apple rolled out its very own gaming service, Apple Arcade, with affordable subscription fees. Given that the company has seen a surge in people’s demand, the company may be aware that it still lacks the real hardware to cater to e-sports lovers. If the rumors are mostly true, Apple will have a long way to go to partly take over incumbent competitors.
