While several prominent companies in the world have faced a series of incidents, Pizza Hut has taken the first step towards the future via an eco-friendly pizza delivery truck.

In recent time, the company has introduced a modern vehicle that doesn’t emit any toxic gas into the atmosphere and more interesting, it can bake the pizza on the road thanks to built-in robots.
The pizza delivery truck, also known as the Tundra PIE Pro, came to light for the first time in Toyota’s display at Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show that is annually held to introduce specialty automotive products. The prototype design of the PIE is a Tundra SR5 manufactured by Toyota.
When Toyota and Pizza Hut have collaborated with each other, they placed a hydrogen fuel cell electric power engine in the Tundra SR5, instead of the gas engine. The hydrogen fuel cell technology which is also being applied in the Toyota Mirai model helps the truck to move and bake the pizza automatically on the road.
According to a press release regarding the operating mechanisms of the truck, when you order a pizza, a robotic arm will take the corresponding one from the refrigerator to put it on the oven conveyor and close the door. The oven is a kind of ventless one at high speed.
And then, when baking the pizza finishes, another arm will get it out and move it to the board to cut into 6 equal slices. These final stages include wrapping and shipping the pizza to the customer.
The eco-friendly pizza delivery truck is clearly a promising technological product that will release human’s labor. However, some may ask how many people will lose their jobs when it comes into reality. Perhaps, we can only look for the right answer shortly.
