The streaming feature of the Xbox Console finally came to the public after Microsoft teased its first preview. The new feature now lets you stream games from the Xbox One to an Android smartphone.
Given that the “preview” means that the company only showed the feature to a specific group of users. In particular, users must be not only residents in the US or UK but also members of a special Xbox Insider cliché. Of course, the requirements include a smartphone running on Android 6.0 or above and a Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One controller. In addition, using a phone-holding controller clip is preferred when testing out the feature.
If users have all the stuff mentioned above, they’ll be able to take a look at the streaming capabilities of their Xbox. First of all, they need to get an app called Xbox Game Streaming installed onto the console. A test will be conducted to ensure they have a strong internet connection before diving into the streaming time. According to Microsoft’s recommendations, the minimum upstream bandwidth has to reach 4.55 Mbps, while the ideal figure shouldn’t be less than 9 Mbps.
The Program Manager, Jonathan Hildebrandt, said this pilot plan is much important before the company delivers this dedicated feature to all global players. This will result in feedback and the way Xbox Console Streaming will be shaped in the future.
Unlike Microsoft’s Project xCloud, the Xbox Console Streaming allows players to stream games from a personal Xbox, instead of a cloud server like Project xCloud.
