Lyft Plans To Give Job Seekers Free Rides To Interviews

With these discounted trips relating to job training programs and interviews, Lyft hopes to help its customers save travel expenses within the first 03 weeks since they get a new job.

Lyft has recently made an official announcement on its plan that offers job seekers “making their way through the employment pipeline” discounted or even free rides to job interviews, new workplaces, as well as professional training programs. The ridesharing company is now partnering with many nonprofit organizations such as the National Down Syndrome Society, the USO, and Goodwill to deploy the Jobs Access Program.

The target customers of this program include disabled people, refugees, veterans, previously convicted individuals, those who range from 18YO to 24YO, and those with low income.

Lyft plans to deploy the program in over 35 cities in Canada and the United States. Meanwhile, the nonprofits have made an effort to connect customers with the riding company’s rides. Also, Lyft collaborates with Year Up, #cut50 (Dream Corps), United Way 211, The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing Of Youth, Upwardly Global, and Generation.

That means they don’t need to be too anxious about the amount before receiving a paycheck or being capable of paying for transit.

At the beginning of 2019, Lyft promised to spend $50 million or more (equivalent to 1% of its profits) each year on measures including donated rides, sustainability, and transportation infrastructure. And the Jobs Access Program is one of the company’s efforts.

In addition, Lyft has a lot of practical programs in a bid to support customers in need. A few days ago, in the California blackouts, it provided many free rides to take people to relief centers. The company has recently offered more non-emergency rides and wheelchair-accessible rides for patients who belong to the Medicaid programs.
