In early August, India has built the first virtual reality (VR) gaming centre in Mumbai. It must be the good news for Indians who want to experience this advanced technology, as well as for those who are in love with Ready Player One from famous filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
In the VR world, you can move in twisted pathways or see whales swimming in the sea overhead or try to survive in the post-apocalypse where zombies are attacking humans.
The VR gaming centre promises to bring new experience to young Indians. They will no longer be stuck with inconvenient wires and can move freely, instead of sitting at one fixed spot like before. In other words, players are able to take a series of lifelike actions from holding and shooting weapons to running and crouching.
The tech company Zero Latency in Melbourne, Australia which has developed and run free-roam VR systems been teamed up with Parineeta Rajgarhia to establish the first virtual reality gaming centre in India.
The owner of the franchise in Mumbai, Parineeta Rajgarhia said,
Each player will have to pay from Rs899 to Rs1,699 to play with VR games in 45 minutes at Zero Latency, Todi Mills. There are 04 various games including mission and exploratory games, which support both the single-player and multiplayer modes. However, only those above 13 are allowed to experience these games.
With the seamless gameplay, players can conduct a chain of continuing activities such as turns and twists without any difficulty. For example, they just need to spend some seconds to respawn after being killed by zombies.
Remember that players may only be able to bring themselves back to the real world after a few seconds since they take off their headset.
According to a 23YO player named Tunushkaa Pamwani,
The scores of players are displayed on an outside monitor which shows you the player who kills the most zombies, the number of your deaths, as well as where is your rank on the leaderboard including the 10 best players. Rajgarhia added,
