Launched in May 2015, Google Photos is a photo-sharing and storage service developed by Google. It provides users unlimited, free storage for both photos and videos. This service can back up users’ photos across multiple devices and automatically analyze various visual features.

With Google Photos, you can effortlessly search for anything in your photos and even share your images or albums with others.
Google Lens is an AI image recognition technology. It uses deep machine learning and the smartphone camera to recognize an object and understand what it identifies and offer actions based on what it sees.
Google Lens uses a powerful technique called optical character recognition (OCR) to understand and pull out text found in any image. This month, the text searching for images function will be added to Google Photos.
Responding to a user who spotted the new feature, Google has quietly updated on Twitter:

Google Photos’ smart search can already identify events, objects, people, and even their pets (if their faces are labeled). At the same time, in order to allow for location queries, the app uses GPS data in photos.
From now on, Photos will also search for text appearing in an image. This lets you search for texts and shows all results in which the sentences physically appear, regardless of their size and position.

Text search is an ideal feature for WiFi passwords, documents, and anything that you have saved by taking a photo of them. This feature is available on iOS, Android, and even the web client.
The new Lens capability is on stream now, and available on various devices that we have checked. Following Google’s advice, in order to copy and paste any text more easily, users should tap the Lens button once they find the photo they are looking for.
