On Tuesday, Google announced that those who used Google Takeout to download private data between November 21 and November 25, 2019, may have been sent strangers’ videos. The company has delivered its sincere apologies to users who suffered from the inconvenience of the technical problem.

Google Takeout is an app for users to store their whole data on Google’s app collection. Despite Google’s concealment of the number of victims, it claimed that no more than 0.01 percent of users suffered from the problem. However, when estimating the total users may reach over 1 billion all over the world, a small percentage could also mean a huge number.
Notably, the technical issue made the videos that were comprised of strangers’ photos be stored in the Takeout backup. Users even have been sent an incomplete download version when using the app for personal purposes.

Google claimed that the bug has been identified and solved completely. In order to save other users, it also recommends them to delete the backup data stored within the defined dates.
The company’s spokesperson also admitted the inconvenience created from their technical problem, then ensured that they had warned against users who used Google Takeout to store their photos from Google Photos between November 21 and November 25.

Google said it had analyzed carefully to prepare for the potential problems that might show up in the future. In the bottom line, the spokesperson gave the most sincere apology to the public for their issue and relevance.
