Facebook is apparently working on a new feature that many of us have been experienced on Instagram. However, this new one will work in a bit different way on Facebook.
As suggested, Instagram previously launched a feature to help people start a group chat immediately after sharing an invite on ‘Stories’. As for Facebook’s “Stories”, now it’s likely to get a feature that looks like what already happened on Instagram. Furthermore, people can share a Messenger group chat invite through a normal post, according to Jane Wong, an engineering expert from Facebook. At present, the feature still has rooms for development, so that the social media giant wants to make sure about its stability and efficiency.
If you’re still confused, here’s more detail for you. With Instagram, users can send their followers an invitation to take part in any group chat by tapping on the ‘Chat Stickers’. In addition, the poster is given the ability to choose any participants they want to join or not. In case a person has interacted with the chat sticker, the platform will generate a request to the group then let the poster to make the decision about his/her request.
Along with that, the social network giant is also having experiments with its main app and a similar feature. Instead of triggering it on stories, the company will introduce a new ‘Chat’ feature that shows up when you create any new post. Considering that, people can request to be added into the chat after the post is created or the poster will add them before creating it.
Wong noted that this new feature won’t be available for now on Facebook app, but the company will gradually roll out it when all the tests are completed.
