Facebook Might Merge Facebook & Messenger Apps Once Again

Recently Jane Manchun Wong, a female hacker who specializes in app reverse engineering, has revealed that Facebook may integrate its Messenger platform back into the Facebook app. This means that users will only need to use a single app for both platforms.
Messenger platform was first introduced in 2011, and until 2014, the company officially removed chat feature in its main app and forced users to use 2 separate apps if they want to use Messenger. After half a decade, when the company is said to be preparing to integrate their messaging platforms include Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, it looks like Messenger will be back in the app once again.
In Jane Wong's post on Twitter, she said the Chats section in the Facebook app will only include a limited number of Messenger features. Of course, the main feature will still be sending and receiving messages, and if users want to use the full service such as calling, sending photos or expressing emotions, they will need to download separate Messenger apps.
Screenshots uploaded by Jane Wong show that the new white background interface of the Facebook app which was first introduced by the company in January. Now the app will be integrated with a separate chat area without having to redirect to Messenger app anymore.
Currently, there is no information about when the social media giant will officially bring the Messenger platform back to the main app again.
To recall, it has plans to let users send messages across its platforms: WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.
While the three apps will still remain separate, the company will bring them together under one mutual messaging platform. With this change, users can send from one social network to another, for example, you can talk to your Messenger-only friends without having to leave WhatsApp.
