Facebook Allows You To Shut Down Annoying Alerts

This will make Facebook users feel better when they don't have to keep an eye on distracting notifications.

When surfing Facebook, you may have noticed that sometimes the red notification dots still do exist, even when you already read all the notifications pushed out. If you only need to be informed at the right time so you’re finding a way to halt the problem, this news would take your attention. Recently, Facebook has announced that the launch of a feature called Shortcut Bar Settings is ready to debut, which allows users to control what they will have at the bottom of the Facebook app.

The feature is projected to take place on iOS devices at the early stage, and Android users will be able to enjoy it in the coming weeks. To remove any tab or make its notifications silent, users have to press and hold on a specific button at the bottom bar. For example, if you find it annoying when Marketplace doesn’t stop bugging you with items you don’t really want to take a look, you can choose to silence them forever. In addition, you can have a customized bar sticking with your liking.

As per Facebook’s spokesperson, their target is to help people connect with favorite things more easily and to give them more control over notifications they’ll get from the Facebook app. The navigation bar, of course, will suggest more relevant features and really-needed alerts, rather than “spamming” everything that floats on the social media.

This won’t likely happen to address a bunch of issues Facebook is still making, but on the pragmatic side, users can feel better when it comes to their digital wellbeing.
