China has warned the US to take further actions if it is not going to release Huawei's CFO, Meng Wanzhow, who was arrested in Canada early December.

China has warned the United States that it will take further action if the Huawei's chief financial officer arrested in Canada are not freed.

On Sunday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry asked US ambassador Terry Branstad to lodge a contest over the arrest of Huawei's CFO and demanded the US to withdraw its arrest warrant.
Chinese Foreign Minister, Le Yucheng, has emphasized that future action will depend on decisions and actions of The US. The arrest of Meng has provoked global markets because it could escalate the ongoing trade war between China and the US.
Meng Wanzhou - chief financial officer of China's Huawei was accused of covering up Huawei's relationship with another company, known to have tried to do business in Iran despite US sanctions . On January 1, Meng was arrested in Canada and extradited to the United States. She was in custody awaiting a decision on bail. She is the daughter of Huawei founder - Ren Zhengfei.
Huawei is a manufacturer of smart phones and telecommunication equipments in China. The company recently surpassed Apple, rising to become the world's second-largest smartphone vendor after Samsung.
Founder of this phone company, Ren, is an engineer in the Chinese military and his close relationship with the Communist Party has become an international concern. Huawei insists they have not received any spying requests from the Chinese government.
China could retaliate against Canadian citizens and businesses after Meng's arrest, analysts warn
The arrest of Meng happened on the same day as the meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. The meeting aims to tackle the escalating trade war between the two largest nations.
On Friday, Huawei spokesman said the company believes that the laws of Canada and the United States will make the right conclusion for this incident.
