China Has Launched The First RocketSonde From An Unmanned Submarine

As such, with these rocketsondes, we will have more chances to monitor the oceanic zones that haven’t been controlled before.
For the first time in the history of the world, China has fired a rocketsonde, also known as a weather rocket, from an autonomous submarine to monitor whatever concerning oceans and meteorology can’t be observed by common weather balloons.

Similar to a sea drone or an unmanned submarine, this kind of vehicle receives the data which the weather rocket sends to.
When designing the USSVs, the researchers have set up a few of special goals such as expanding these vehicles to catch the sounding network transmitting from the land, as well as leverage them to send 3D images observed from the inside of hurricanes and typhoons, so that evaluating their movement gets much easier and the chance to reduce their impact will be higher.

In addition, the researchers are now deploying a new network system to observe METOC data (meteorology and oceanography) from a series of the USSVs connected with each other. As such, with these rocketsondes, we will have more chances to monitor the oceanic zones that haven’t been controlled before. Besides, we will also know more about the various conditions of oceans and meteorology, as well as find out the effective ways to deal with ocean phenomena.
The data in the study was taken from the results of the sea tests first made in 2018. Advances in Atmospheric Sciences was responsible for publishing this study.
