Broadband Speeds And Mobile Network Speeds In India Ranked 111th And 65th Respectively

Through the statistics concerning using broadband and mobile network, India has step by step made breakthroughs in the development of internet penetration and digital services. Despite its fast increase in the popularity of networks of fiber optic and the data plans which are not limited, the country has still had a lot of things to do to achieve the goal of quality of its network infrastructure.
Ookla is the company behind Speedtest.net website, focusing on the analysis on the Internet performance and accessibility in the world. It has conducted a study on the situation of the Internet in India. The results show that India ranked the position of 111th and 65th in terms of broadband speeds and mobile network speeds, respectively in the world.

India’s broadband speeds climbed two ranks to reach the positions of 111th while its mobile network speeds did not show any increase. According to the report, India improved its performance in broadband network speeds by 50.4 percent. It reached the average of 23 Mbps in fixed speeds of downloading. Regarding the speeds of the mobile network on average, India improved it by 15.2 percent.

For the further information, the United States led the list of top five countries in the fixed speeds of downloading worldwide, followed by China. However, China ranked the first position in the average mobile speeds.
The number of tests of gigabit in New Delhi region increased by 20,120 (equivalent to 16,908 percent) from 119 (2017) to the number of 20,239 (2018) in total. Moreover, the report of Ookla also revealed that the global network speeds rose by over 15 percent in 2018. Meanwhile, the fixed speeds of uploading and downloading respectively increased by 11.6 percent and 15.2 percent. The average speed reached the level of about 22.82 Mbps in the world.
