Family and education foundation
His full name is William Henry Gates the 2nd. He was born on the 28th October 1955 in Seattle, Washington. His father worked as an outstanding lawyer and his mother was one of the Directors of the United Way International.
Bill Gates was the second child (he has one elder sister named Kristi and one younger sister named Libby). Inspiring from his parents, he soon had the interest in law as well as the benefits of competition.
He studied at the private Lakeside School where Bill Gates knew Paul Allen and found his love for software and programming.
In 1973, he came to Harvard University and first met Steve Ballmer who was the former CEO of Microsoft. During this period, he created the BASIC programming language for the MIT Altair 8800 – the first microcomputer in the world.
The decision to leave Harvard to establish Microsoft
Bill Gates showed his broad vision towards the microcomputer’s potentials. He decided to leave the university desired by most of the students and set up a new computer known as Micro-Soft with his dear friend Paul Allen in 1975.
In 1979, Microsoft changed to the new location at Washington State, instead of Albuquerque.
In 1980, Bill cooperated with the IBM – International Business Machines Corporation. It was the moment that made all of the worlds surprised when an unknown software company could get a license to its OS.

In 1985, Bill Gates released Microsoft 1.0 OS – that was considered as the milestone for a series of the tech giant’s successes.

In 1994, he married Melinda French Gates and they set up a charity organization. Next year, in 1995, Microsoft introduced the seminal Window ’95.
In 2008, Bill left his favorite job at Microsoft to focus on the philanthropy. In 2014, he resigned the Chairman of the Board.
