Amazon India Trains Young Adults With Intellectual Disabilities And Autism

In partnership with Sol’s ARC, Amazon India hopes to bring many internship opportunities for those with autism and intellectual disabilities through various parts in the company’s fulfillment network.

On September 26, Amazon India has made an announcement on its collaboration with Sol’s ARC, a non-governmental organization (NGO), to launch the first pilot internship program in a bid to train young adults who have intellectual disabilities and autism.

Via the program, these individuals will be able to become a part of the workforce, and therefore, they can manage to get their own financial independence.

In partnership with Sol’s ARC, Amazon India hopes to bring many internship opportunities for those with autism and intellectual disabilities through various parts in the company’s fulfilment network.

As for the NGO, Sol’s ARC also plans to enhance the awareness of Amazon’s employees regarding intellectual disabilities and autism.

As the Director of Human Resources at Amazon India Operations, Swati Rustagi said:

The NGO's programs aim to expand learning opportunities to all of the Indian citizens.Besides, the NGO has set up programs to expand learning opportunities to all of the Indian citizens. According to the founder of Sol’s ARC Sonali Saini, by creating this pilot internship program, the organization want to provide the young adults with sustainable emplyment opportunities.

There are more than 350 individuals with speech and hearing disabilities who are participating in Amazon’s network via delivery stations, sortation centers, and fulfillment centers in India.
