Your Android Phone Can Work Seamlessly With Your Windows Computer, Here's How

Apple devices work seamlessly together for most of the time. Your Android phone can work with your Windows computer just like that. Here's how.

You can share documents between your iPhone and your Mac if you integrate everything on Apple hardware. Things will still work well; you can switch from mobile to desktop devices and vice versa even when working on documents and you can share documents and data between devices.

You can also have Android devices work smoothly with Windows devices. You can choose among a lot of apps helping users to connect their Android devices and Windows computers though it may take time.

Windows 10 has an app called Your Phone that is now better in integrating your Android Phone and Windows devices. The recently added feature supporting RCS messaging is compatible with Samsung Messages on the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Integrating your computer with your Android phone through this app, you can sync a lot of things such as notifications, messages, photos and you can even receive or make phone calls using your computer.

You can also use the web version of messaging apps (such as Facebook Messenger, Android Messages or Skype and WhatsApp) on your Windows computer, even making video calls on Skype or Facebook Messenger on both your mobile and computer. Another app for video calls on the phone and computer is Google Duo.

You can use Skype smoothly on your computer with its desktop app but the disadvantage is that you cannot set it as the default app for the SMS app on your Android phone. Anyway, you can sync your messages and calls on messaging apps between your phone and computer.

Photos and videos

Due to the smartness and of its AI and the ease in using, Google Photos is still one of the best options for syncing photos and videos. It is even free if you allow Google to reduce your photo and video sizes if they are too big.

Once you sync your data in your phone through Google Photo, every photo and video captured on your Android device will be uploaded to Google Photo and shown on your computer. Google also provides free Backup and Sync if you want to upload photos and videos on your Windows computer.

Integrating photos and videos on OneDrive is another option but it is not really efficient and simple. If you are already paying for OneDrive and Office, there may be no need to use Google Photos, but Google Photos is still a better choice.

If you want something between Microsoft and Google, Dropbox is the most suitable. You can choose to sync totally or partially your photos and videos to your Windows computer. You will get 2GB of space for free and then you will have to pay Rs 741 a month.

iPhone and Mac can connect impressively through Universal Clipboard and share clipboard smoothly when you use the same Apple ID to sign in to your Apple devices. You can also get that integration between Android and Windows.

Set up Google Chrome and sign in to the same account on both your Android device and Windows computer so that Google Chrom can do it for you. This feature is hidden behind a flag on the desktop screen. From chrome://flags, switch to on the following features: Sync Clipboard Service, Enable shared clipboard feature signals to be handle, and Enable receiver device to handle shared clipboard feature.

You can copy documents from your computer to your phone by clicking right on what you want to copy and selecting Copy to Your Device. To copy things from Android to Windows, pick something then tap Share and choose Chrome. You will be asked to choose the device which will receive, press and hold the tap Paste to copy from your phone or press Ctrl + V to copy from your computer.

Clipboard and Magic Copy are two of the third-party app which can help you with this.

Among most modern browsers that can help you sync browsing data between operations available on Android and Windows now, Google Chrome is still the leader though it is not as smooth as it is on Apple devices.

Don’t forget Firefox. It keeps adding a lot of new features for both mobile and desktop. Integrating data between Android and Windows is simple and your data won’t be used for targeted ad profile building as much as using Google.

Another good option is Chromium-based Microsoft Edge which has been revamped and relaunched especially when you want to integrate tightly with Chrome.  Beside simple privacy options, immersive reader mode and key browsing data importing, it also supports other extensions of Chrome.

Whatever you choose, Google Drive, Dropbox or others, they are all possible to sync documents and files between Windows and Android although free space is limited.
If you want to edit or create documents, Google Drive and Microsoft Office are the best options. Basically, Microsoft Office is free on the web and mobile, but to take as much benefit as possible, you have to pay Rs 5,190 a year.

Office has been always the leader in helping users edit files across multiple devices easily but OneDrive is also a considerable choice. With OneDrive, it is simple to continue the work you are doing on your phone on your computer and vice versa. Office apps are still being improved to work better on mobile devices, including iOS.

Google Sheets, Slides and Docs are also available on almost every device. Although they are not as complex as Office, those programs are still good free options.
