Add And Switch Between Additional Accounts On Your Instagram App

The famous social media platform Instagram (owned by Facebook) acknowledges that the users usually need to run multiple identities. It is totally common for users to run their business and personal accounts from one app.

That is the reason why Instagram has made it easy for us to switch between different accounts on it's Android and iOS apps. And it is also easy to create extra accounts within the application.

The current Instagram app support you to switch and create up to 5 different accounts. The requirement is that you must use a separate email to register for each account.

Guide to add additional Instagram accounts

1. Open the Insta app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

2. Tap on the button of your account at the right corner of the app. It will take you to the profile page.

3. Tap on the three dash icon on the upper right. Then select "Settings," which is the gear icon.

4. Choose "Add Account."

5. Choose "Sign Up" which locates at the page's bottom.

6. Type in the username you would like to use and tap "Next."

7. If you already have another existing Insta account, you could follow these options:

- Log in automatically with that account. But this will allow linking between the accounts, so anyone that has access to the 1st account could log in to this new one too.

- Choose "Add password instead" to make a new password linked to the new account.

8. Choose "Complete Sign Up." Then, you could choose to find contacts and connect to your Facebook accounts. Those are optional so skip them if you do not want to.

9. Complete by add in a photo for the profile.

Guide to switch between accounts on Instagram

In case you're managing two or more accounts on Instagram, it's easy to switch from one to another easily.

There are two ways for you to do it:

- Open your profile page (see step 2 above), choose the account's name on top of that page. Choose the account that you would like to use from the drop-down list.

- Press and hold the button "Account" at the right bottom of the app. Choose the account from the drop-down list.
