Realme C12 Summary

There are always many ways to approach a budget phone because users in this price range often choose a product that offers exactly what they need. With Realme C12, Realme chose to focus on battery life, an essential element for users who have just moved from feature phones to smartphones, or groups of users who need a phone that can last long.

Realme C12: Design

Realme C12 debuted not long after Realme C11 and the appearance of this product has a lot of blending features between C11 and C3. With the red version featuring diagonal patterns running on the back, similar to the Realme C3, at the same time inherit the square camera cluster on Realme C11. This change on the back makes it "less beautiful" compared to its predecessor, but that is only my opinion. There is a one-touch fingerprint sensor on the back to help secure the device more and unlock the device quicker.

In terms of finishing, the plastic material of the Realme C12 is exactly the same as the C11 or C3, including the sturdy frame. The lower back that holds the battery does not seem to be well-built. In addition, this product will be quite heavy, about 209g, so I think it will be more suitable for male users.

Realme C12: Display

Realme C12 launched only 3 months after the arrival of the Realme C11, so there are many features the handset inherits from its predecessor, one of which is the screen.

The 6.5-inch HD+ display and the IPS panel of Realme C12 can be said to be above average. Although not too sharp and outstanding, the product still has good enough brightness for using outdoor and bright colors for viewing entertainment content, and playing gaming. But there is a rather unfortunate thing that Realme has not fixed is that the viewing angle of the product is still not good. If you look at the phone at other angles except for the direct angle, the color will be changed and the brightness is significantly reduced.

In terms of appearance, the product still has a fairly trendy design with thin bezels and a well-balanced water drop.

Realme C12: Performance

Not only the screen, but the Realme C12 also inherits the SoC MediaTek Helio G35 from the C11 but is upgraded to 3GB of RAM for a slight boost in performance.

However, I still feel not "satisfied" with the G35, if you need to play games, for the same amount of money you can find some other phones using more powerful Helio G70, G80, or Snapdragon 665. But for regular usage, this chipset is sufficient for daily tasks.

Realme C12: Camera

Realme C12 adds a 2MP macro camera on this phone, but this camera is not that useful in real life as only you don’t want to capture objects at a close distance that often.

In addition, the image quality from the 13MP camera of the product is not too good, the image looks pale and unnatural even in day-light conditions. In return, C12 has a full range of camera modes from portrait to night photography for users to use when needed. Similarly, the front 5MP camera of the phone also has portrait mode and is suitable for video calling or picturing selfies.

Realme C12: Battery life

With a battery capacity of up to 6000mAh, Realme C12 joined the club of smartphones with the highest battery capacity today and also set the record for the cheapest smartphone with a 6000 mAh battery.

Specifically, in terms of practical experience, my Realme C12 achieved more than 10 hours on-screen with a full range of different light and heavy tasks including playing 60fps mobile games, watching movies, reading newspapers, surfing Facebook ... In particular, I also maintain a continuous 4G connection, receive full social media notifications and the volume and brightness are always at the highest level.

With this experience, the Realme C12 is completely capable of lasting for a full day. If you use it only for normal use, the device can be used up to 3 days to need to charge the battery.

When it comes to charging, it's really a pity that the Realme C12 is only equipped with 10W charging technology. But also understandable when the handset is using MediaTek chip. If Realme goes for Qualcomm fast charger it will be expensive, while fast charging Pumbcharge of MediaTek is not stable and the charging speed is also not high. Therefore, the time it takes to refill the 6,000 mAh capacity battery of this product is up to 3h30 minutes. Due to the long charging time, you should plug in the charger overnight to ensure your phone is fully charged for the new day.

Realme C12: Conclusion

Except for the impressive battery capacity, the other aspects of Realme C12 are quite mediocre, from performance, screen, to camera. If you are looking for a smartphone with the longest battery for an affordable price, Realme C12 is a top choice as it offers up to 3 days of use for normal usage and more than 10 hours of screen-on time.

If you look for a more all-around phone, you might need to spend extra cash as there are great options for less than Rs. 15,000 such as Redmi Note 9 Pro or Realme Narzo 20. They will certainly have better cameras, more powerful performance with the Snapdragon 720G or Helio G85, fast charging support, among others.
