Xiaomi has just teased the upcoming Mi Mix 3, with the new cryptic poster. The company officially confirms that Mi Mix 3 will support 5G connections and be the first smartphone to feature 10GB RAM in the world.
The official confirmation comes from the Weibo and Xiaomi's branch in Spain.
It’s likely that 10GB of RAM in a smartphones is more than what we actually need and it seems only serving bragging rights. But adding 5G support is likely to make Mi Mix 3 become the future device. The 5G networks are set to release in late 2019.
At the moment there have not been any chipsets that support 5G yet. The Mi Mix 3 might need to use an external modem just like Snapdragon 845 working with Qualcomm X24 or X50. However, this external device could affect battery life negatively. Or Mi Mix 3 could wait to install Snapdragon 8150 which is coming until next year.
The Mi Mix 3 will have many other features as it is a new device belonging to the Mi Mix lineup, which is famous for its innovations. According to the existing reports, this flagship will make use of a Snapdragon 845 SoC, a high screen-to-body ratio, a full-view display along with a bezel-less design and an in-display fingerprint reader.
We do not known if this new device will have a sliding camera mechanism in the front as it is speculated in the past. This shouldn't be surprise because now we already have the Vivo NEX S and Oppo Find X with this design. in-display fingerprint sensor.
The reports claim that the Mi Mix 3 is all set to be launched on October 25 at the Nanjing Sports in China, we can see more details about this device in the next few days.
