The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is no small phone but Samsung has made and launched an even bigger version of the foldable phone.
The new model is called Samsung W21 5G and for now, it’s only sold in China. This phone should not be mistaken as the Chinese version of Galaxy Z Fold 2 as Samsung has already launched it in China.
However, the two phones share several similarities with only a few differences such as the height and the design.
Samsung W21 5G is a bit taller and flaunts a metallic gold finish with the rear panel having a ribbed texture. We still see a glass back but for now, we’re not sure if that’s the same Gorilla Glass Victus used on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 2.
To add to the gold finish of the phone, the South Korean tech giant has added a 7-layer nano-level optical film to the glass back.
Other specs of the Samsung W21 5G include an outer screen measuring 6.23 inches and the main display of 7.6 inches. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 865+ processor paired with RAM of 12GB and onboard storage of 512GB.
Software-wise, the foldable phone runs on Android 10.
The phone is retailed for 19,999 Chinese yuan (roughly Rs. 223,000), in comparison with the price tag of 17,000 yuan (Rs. 190,000) of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
The company has said nothing about the global launch of the device. Since it only sells the W line in China, if the South Korean tech giant wants to introduce it in other markets, the Samsung W21 5G might bear a different name.
