Samsung Announces 1TB Internal Storage Module For Smartphones Ahead of Galaxy S10 Launch

When news of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 is heightening as the release date of January 20th gets closer, Samsung also announced that it will pack he first ever 1TB storage on its upcoming Galaxy S10.

The First 1 Terabyte UFS Module

The announcement released by Samsung noted that it has ‘achieved a threshold’ in smartphone storage. Specifically, the South Korean’s tech firm had successfully developed the first 1TB Universal Flash Storage (UFS) chip. Last year’s Samsung S9 devices managed to risen quite a lot of hype for the unprecedented 512Gb storage capacity. It is certainly surprising that in the span of a single year, Samsung had managed to double the possible storage capacity of their phone.

Samsung’s announcement came in the middle of building hype over the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event on January 20th. Of course, based on the name of the event itself and the continuous teasings the company had done on its social network accounts. The only device that could possibly be unveiled at this event can only be the S10. In order to achieve the 1Tb capacity, Samsung stacked 16 layers of 512Gb’s V-NAND flash memory on top of each other. The module is regulated, lastly, by a: “newly developed proprietary controller.”
