HMD Global recently launched a budget Nokia 2.3 smartphone, which is the company's latest Android One device. The phone is already available in Europe for 109 Euro (around Rs. 8,600). Key highlights of this device include an Helio A22 SoC, dual rear cameras, and a 4,000 mAh battery that is said to offer up to two days of battery life.
The Nokia 2.3 features a simple design with a rear panel made from plastic. The front has a 6.2-inch screen, HD resolution, and relatively thick side bezels. The left side of the device has a button for Google Assistant, while the right side houses the power button and volume rocker.
At the back, the device has a 3D nano texture with a vertical pattern and it comes in 3 different colors, including Sand, Cyan Green, and Black.
It uses MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, which can be expanded via microSD card slot. It supports dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11n, FM radio, micro-USB port, and 3.5mm headphone port.
On the rear panel, the Nokia 2.3 is equipped with a dual-camera setup with a 13 MP F / 2.2 camera and a 2 MP depth-sensing camera. Upfront, there is a 5 MP F / 2.4 camera, which supports Face Recognition feature. Under the hood, it has a 4,000 mAh battery, which is claimed by HMD to provide two days of battery life. However, it does not support fast charging, only 5W.
Like other Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 2.3 is a part of Google’s Android program. That means it is promised to get update the new Android version for two years and monthly security updates for up to 3 years. However, Nokia 2.3 only runs Android 9 at launch, not Android 10, and it is unclear when it will be upgradable to Android 10.
Overall the Nokia 2.3 is a cheap device with a durable design and many basic features. Also because it is a cheap smartphone, we can hardly ask for more.
