Moto G9 Power stands out for a very cheap price tag and a massive 6,000mAh battery – arguably the biggest you can find on a mainstream handset.

If you are still not sure whether this is the phone for you, keep reading to find out more about this smartphone.

Moto G9 Power Price And Availability

Moto G9 Power price is €199.99 in some European countries and £179.99 in the UK. According to Motorola, the phone will also be available in some Asian countries. Moto G9 Power price in India is Rs 11,999.

Moto G9 Power Design

This is a big phone with a 6.8-inch screen and a 9.66mm thickness. The design of Moto G9 Power has nothing that shouts premium – plastic finish and quite thick bezels. So in short, what we can say about the appearance of this phone is that it is unspectacular and plain.

The right side of the phone houses the volume rocker and the power button. On the other side, you can find a dedicated button for Google Assistant.

Wired headphones lovers will appreciate the 3.5mm audio jack while the USB-C port enables data transferring and charging.

Moto G9 Power Display

The size of the Moto G9 Power display makes it a less appealing choice for people with small hands or those expecting to buy a one-handed smartphone.

The LCD display has a 720x1640 pixel resolution and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. There is no contrast and depth you find on an OLED screen and the lack of HDR support means the dark and bright parts of videos are less balanced. The refresh rate of Moto G9 Power is 60Hz, which is normal given its price tag.

The only highlight when it comes to the display is a big size and nothing more.

Moto G9 Power Camera

Moto G9 Power camera department is pretty basic but they perform decently. The module consists of a primary 64MP f/1.8 snapper – the only star of the show, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. On the other side, Moto G9 Power features a 16MP camera for selfies.

If you make no change to the settings, images will be captured with 16MP through pixel-binned. When it comes to recording videos, the best you can have is 60FPS and 1080p.

After testing the phone for our Moto G9 Power review, we are confident to say that the phone’s photography capacity is better than we expected in a handset at this price. The photos aren’t the best but they are definitely sharable.

When the lighting is good, the phone can take detailed, well-balanced, and sharp pictures. HDR kicks in to keep the dark and light parts visible.

While you have a night mode, low light performance is unfortunately hit and miss. Loss of details and noise are the most notable issues.

Moto G9 Power Specs and Performance

Under the hood, Moto G9 Power is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 paired with RAM of 4GB and onboard storage of 128GB. This is the minimum requirement for a decent phone in 2021.

If you expect more from the performance, pay a little extra to get something like the OnePlus Nord N10 5G as it will be worth your investment.

While the Moto G9 Power can handle games like Call of Duty or Asphalt, maximum settings or a butter smooth experience is hard to get.

There is no real complaint about how the phone performs in day-to-day tasks except for the extra milliseconds it takes the Moto G9 Power to load multiple tabs or switching to full screen.

The phone comes with Android 10 out of the box and while it isn’t the latest update of the software, Motorola said Android 11 is in the work.

Motorola offers a close to vanilla Android experience and it’s a welcoming decision. The software is relatively bloat-free and clean, unlike what we have with lots of Chinese phones recently.

Moto G9 Power Battery Life

Moto G9 Power, as the name indicates, prides itself on the ability to give you the maximum time between charges.

The 6,000mAh battery can handle two-day use with a drop of 10% each hour when you stream videos.

The massive power cell, the low-resolution screen, and basic internals mean overnight charging the Moto G9 Power every day is unnecessary. There is no wireless charging but you can rely on the 20W fast charging to boost the phone from 0% to 100% in less than an hour.

With average use, you can expect 50% of power left at the end of the day, which is better than many other handsets on the market. If you throw GPS and gaming into the mix, the phone will struggle to get through the whole second day.
