iPhone 12 Pro Will Come With Significant Upgrades That Might Surprise You

According to the latest report, the upcoming iPhone 12 series will use a 120Hz ProMotion display, which is a significant upgrade over its predecessor. However, it is possible that only the latest high-end iPhone 12 Pro will feature this attractive feature, while the two affordable models in the series will still only have a 60Hz screen.

Like some Android smartphones today, the new iPhone models will be able to automatically switch between 60Hz and 120Hz, depending on the task that the user is using to save battery. This feature is similar to ProMotion on the recent iPad Pro models.

To better support the new 120Hz ProMotion display, a larger battery capacity is required. As we all know, 120Hz displays consume much more battery than 60Hz ones. According to leaked information, the 12 Pro Max will be powered by a 4,400 mAh battery.

This is a significant upgrade, compared to the 3,969 mAh battery of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Although Apple has upgraded the battery capacity of the iPhone 11 series due to the addition of 5G technology, 120Hz screen on the 12 Pro will again require an increase in battery capacity.

The source also revealed that Face ID on the iPhone 12 will be improved and housed inside a  smaller notch. In particular, the new generation Face ID will support a wider camera angle, so that users can unlock it from many different angles.

For the rear camera on the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, Apple will improve low-light photography, with improved image stabilization and faster autofocus. Smart HDR mode has also been upgraded to reduce noise when shooting in low light conditions.

The new LiDAR sensor fitted to the 12 Pro can help increase autofocus performance, and improve Portrait Mode. The telephoto camera on the vanilla version will also be upgraded from 2x to 3x optical zoom, allowing users to take closer pictures of objects without losing image quality.

These are all worthwhile and very attractive upgrades, making the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro even more desirable.
