The Huawei P30 Pro is a standout device with great zoom capabilities - it is the only smartphone on the market today that offers 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom, and 50X digital zoom.

To show off the great zoom capabilities of the P30 Pro, at the launch of this device, Huawei compared the ability to capture the moon between P30 Pro, Galaxy S10+ and iPhone XS Max. While all the iPhone XS Max and Galaxy S10+ could capture was a blip on the black background, we can see a bright moon with the Huawei P30 Pro.

To verify this, we tested the Huawei P30 Pro's ability to capture the moon and compare it to the iPhone XS Max.
At 1X (no zoom), the P30 Pro has yet to show the advantage of its zoom capability. However, the P30 Pro's image is somewhat brighter than the iPhone XS Max.

iPhone XS Max has a maximum digital zoom capability of 10X. It can be seen that the photo taken by the iPhone XS Max is not detailed enough as well as noisy and generally unusable. Meanwhile, also at the 10X zoom, the P30 Pro uses hybrid zoom technology that combines telephoto lens, periscope, and software. The result of the P30 Pro is much better than the iPhone XS Max.

And this is the extreme zoom (50X) of the P30 Pro. Due to relying entirely on digital zoom, the image is not really clear. However, at this zoom level, the P30 Pro has the ability to adjust the exposure appropriately to clarify details on the moon without being "burnt" as at lower zoom levels.
It should be noted that all the above images were taken on the 4th floor of a normal house. Because the shooting position plays a very important role, so if the user has the opportunity to shoot in higher positions (for example, in a high-rise apartment), the result will be much better.

Anyway, this result once again shows the superiority of the Huawei P30 Pro in terms of zoom capability compared to any other competitors in the market.
