Honor has recently confirmed that the Honor 9A is slated to be released on 30 March. However, the star of the launch event will be the Honor 30S, which will reportedly arrive as the first smartphone to feature Huawei’s Kirin 820 chipset with 5G connectivity. The Honor 30S specs are still unavailable at the moment, but the Honor 9A specs have been revealed thanks to its listing on the Chinese Telecom Operator database.

The Honor 9A price is listed as CNY 899 (around Rs. 9,660) and it will be available in Green Jasper, Blue Water Emerald, and Dark Night Black color variants.

The device will come with a dewdrop notched display on the front that has sizable bezels on the sides with a thicker chin at the bottom. Its display has a size of 6.3 inches, supports HD+ (1,600 x 720p) resolution, and accounts for 88.4 percent of the front. At the back, it seems like its rear panel is made of polycarbonate material. Around the back, it gets a dual-camera setup housed in a rectangle camera module at the top left corner. You can also easily see the presence of the fingerprint sensor at the back of this phone.
The dimensions of the Honor 9A are 159.07x74.06x9.04 mm while its weight is listed as 185g. Under the hood, it will reportedly be driven by an Helio P35 SoC that is clocked at 2.3GHz. The handset will be available in at least a 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. You can use a MicroSD card slot to expand the phone’s storage. According to the Chinese Telecom listing, the handset will have loudspeakers that are said to output ‘shocking high volume’.
It will run on Android 10-based Magic UI 3.0.1 and pack a massive 5,000 mAh battery, which is claimed to help the phone last for up to three days. In terms of camera, it will get an 8MP camera on the front selfies and a dual 13MP + 2MP camera setup at the back. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, dual SIM slots, micro-USB port, headphone jack, and Wi-Fi.

The Honor 9A price is RMB 900 (around Rs. 9,600) for the base 64GB model while the 128GB model is priced at RMB 1,200 (around Rs. 12,700). It is already up for pre-orders via vmall.com in three color variants - Jasper Green, Blue Emerald, and Night Black. There is no word on the Honor 9A launch in India at the moment.

The handset is built on a 6.3-inch LCD panel with an HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. At the top, it gets a water-drop notch with an 8MP camera placed inside for taking selfies and video calls. It is powered by an Helio P35 SoC at the helm and comes in two memory configurations, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. It has a dedicated microSD card in case you want to get more storage (up to 512GB) and runs on Android 10 Pie-based Magic UI 3.0.1 to take care of the software side of things.
Under the hood, the phone is fueled by a beefy 5,000 mAh battery that charges at 10W over a micro-USB port. There are a headphone jack, an FM Radio receiver, and a loudspeaker supported by a Smart PA amp. The device also has the brand’s Histen 6.0 audio technology. Connectivity-wise, it features dual-SIM slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi b/g/n.
Finally, there are a fingerprint sensor for security and two cameras on the back of this phone for photography. The primary module is a 13MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture that can take 1080p videos while the second module is a 2MP portrait shooter.
