Carbon Mobile has recently released the Carbon 1 MK II – the world’s first carbon fiber monocoque phone.

Since there is no internal frame, all the phone components are fixed to the carbon fiber, making for a never-before-seen durable, light, and thin phone.

The phone comes at a price of Є799 (around Rs. 70,500) and is available via its official website.

Carbon fibers are known for being extremely lightweight and durable but they also block radio signals. This is why Carbon Mobile spent four years research and come up with the HyRECM technology (short for Hybrid Radio Enabled Composite Material) that forges the material with radio-enabled composites.

Less than 5% of the phone is plastic and it can be converted back into raw material.

The Carbon 1 MK II body is made out of carbon fibers. Its screen is of a regular rectangular shape with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and flat edges. On the rear, there is a dual-camera module consisting of two 16MP f/2.0 sensors. The phone is 6.3mm thick and weighs around 125g. For video calls and selfies, the phone is equipped with a 20MP front camera.

On the other side, the phone is dominated by a 6.01-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel protected by Gorilla Glass Victus with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P90 processor paired with RAM of 8GB and 256GB of onboard storage.

The Carbon 1 MK II runs on Android 10 and draws power from a 3,000mAh battery that can be half-filled in 10 minutes.

Connectivity-wise, the phone supports Bluetooth 5.0, a Type-C port, NFC, Wi-Fi 5, and GPS.

Those who pre-order the handset will receive it later this month.
