Things have turned bad to worse for Apple. Having seen the share price go down, Apple also admitted that there was a serious hardware issue on its iPhone and now owners of Apple devices have to experience yet another major issue.
The issue was reported by MacRumors, iOS has just started locking owner of iPhone, (along with Apple TVs and iPads as well but not too many were hit), out of their own devices, disabling those users’ Apple IDs. Many users have reported that this issue happened without any warning on their iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and also other Apple devices, while they were watching TV, using Apple Music, etc. And now the company has just acknowledged the issue.

From many reports across Twitter and Reddit, MacRumors reports that iPhone users have been told that they are no longer be able to use their phones “for security reasons”. Responding to those reports, Apple Support on Twitter said that Apple is aware of this issue and they are guiding affected users to the Apple’s Support Communities page which guide users on how to regain access to their disabled and locked Apple IDs.
Interestingly, even though these lockout issue is happening, the System Status page of the company has yet shown any issue with the Apple ID. There are many users whose iPhones were affected confirmed that their phones were locked even when they are using two-factor authentication.

Apple hasn’t issued any statement yet. And many have questioned whether this issue was a failure in the iOS or it is a security crisis.
Either way, this is definitely not a good thing for Apple and the timing couldn’t be worse. Hopefully, they are working on a fix and will release an official statement relating to this issue soon.
