Apple has just released a new iPhone series: the iPhone XR, and the more expensive iPhone XS and XS Max. And for the first time in many years, Apple’s iPhones are not just heavily priced devices anymore. Now Apple fans have one more option which is the iPhone XR whose price is much cheaper compared to the top-of-the-line iPhone XS Max, starting at $749.

But the iPhone XR comes with a cheaper price doesn’t mean that it can’t be compared with the iPhone XS and XS Max.
Below are nine reasons why you should consider buying an iPhone XR over the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max:
1. It is $250 cheaper than the expensive iPhone XS

For most people, whenever they make a decision to buy something, price is already one of the most important consideration. And in this case, the iPhone XR is clearly better.
The iPhone XR’s price tags are $749 and $899 for the 64GB and 256 GB of storage, respectively.
The iPhone XS’s price tags are $999 and $1,349 for 64GB and 512GB of storage, respectively.
The iPhone XS Max’s price tags are $1,099 and $1,449 for 64GB and 512GB of storage, respectively.
Obviously, not many users would use all the 512GB of storage on their iPhones. But even if you choose the maximum storage on the iPhone XR, it still costs less than the 64GB of storage variant of the iPhone XS and XS Max.
2. You have more color options with the iPhone XR
You have up to 6 choices in color for the iPhone XR: white, black, red, yellow, coral and blue.

Meanwhile, Apples only offer 3 color options for their luxury iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max: space grey, silver, and gold.
Yes, the color options of the iPhone XS and XS Max look amazing but having a bit more than 3 colors like the iPhone XR would be nicer.
3. The XR comes with a bigger display than the XS.

While the iPhone XR’s display can’t be as big as the 6.5-inch display of the XS Max, it actually comes with a bigger screen than the iPhone XS.
4. Both iPhone XR and XS have the same camera on the front
All three new iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max all have the same 7MP front-facing camera to power the True Depth Camera system of Apple for Face ID.

And all of the three iPhones have the same features that use the camera in the front, including 1080p video recording, Smart HDR for taking photos, portrait mode and also Animoji.
You can check out the camera comparison between three new iPhones of Apple and there are pretty much no differences there.
5. Although it has 1 fewer lens, the iPhone XR still has almost the same rear camera system as the XS.
All three latest iPhones have the same 12MP wide-angle lens on their back, and also pretty much the same features, like Smart HDR, portrait mode and optical image stabilisation, etc...
How these phones zoom is pretty much the only difference.

While the iPhone XR doesn’t have a telephoto lens so it is only able to get up to 3x digital zoom, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max both feature a telephoto lens, so they can get up to 2x optical zoom, and a 6x digital zoom on top of that as well. But unless you have to use the zoom feature of your cameras a lot, the camera experience the iPhone XR can offer will be mostly the same as on the iPhone XS.
6. The iPhone XR and XS are powered by the same processor

If you are worried that your iPhone XR may offer less performance than the iPhone XS, then don’t be. All three latest iPhones are powered by the new A12 chip.
In comparison with the previous A11 chip that was on the iPhone X, which could power over 600 billion operations/sec, this new A12 chip can do 5 trillion operations in every second.
7. The battery capacity of the iPhone XR is better than the XS
The iPhone X’s battery life lasted around 12 to 13 hours.
The latest iPhone XS’s battery life is around 30 minutes longer compared to the iPhone X - between 12.5 to 13.5 hours
The XS Max lasts 90 minutes longer compared to the iPhone X, between 13.5 to 14.5 hours.

But, interestingly, the battery life is even longer in the iPhone XR. Apple claims that its iPhone XR can last 90 minutes longer than the previous iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone that had the longest battery life among last year iPhone series. So the battery life of the iPhone XR can last around 15.5 to 16.5 hours, 2-3 hours longer than the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, a very significant difference.
8. All three iPhones have identical dual-SIM systems.

Although Apple introduced the dual-SIM system as the iPhone XS’s feature, the iPhone XR and XS Max still have the same SIM system, which lets users use one nano-SIM card along with an electronic SIM card aka eSIM on their phones.
9. All three iPhones have the same ecosystem of Apple.

All the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max run iOS 12, the latest operating system for Apple mobile devices.
Therefore, all of the latest iPhones will be received the same update from Apple and other great features.
