Even The US-Sino Tech War Couldn’t Prevent The Partnership Between Tencent And Roblox

To carry on business in the Chinese market, foreign companies must comply with some strict regulations. However, with the Tencent’s help, Roblox may have to face fewer difficulties than it should do.

While the whole world is keeping an eye on the US-Sino tech war, the partnership between Tencent and Roblox must be the good news for all of us. As per Roblox, the leading video game company has been estimated at $2.5 billion in recent days.

In the press release, both of these companies made an official announcement on their collaboration. Accordingly,

The Tencent Senior Vice President Steven Ma said,

Considering many aspects, this idea is not really new. At present, the amount of Roblox’s active users hits 90 million. It’s clear that the video game company will get a lot of benefits when approaching the huge amount of internet users in China (up to 800 million).

Meanwhile, both Tencent and Roblox are planning to sponsor a scholarship for 15 Chinese students who will take part in creator camps (that last a week) at Stanford University in summer 2019. These students from 10 to 15 years old will be trained by iD Tech to learn how to design games or 3D worlds, as well as learn basic programming by Lua code and developer tools of Roblox.
