Uber Now Offers Speedboat Rides For Rs 5,700

Uber users in Mumbai can now enjoy a brand new service from the ride-hailing company. Uber recently announced that it has released the new service UberBOAT, which offers boat rides to users around Mumbai.
UberBOAT started operation on February 1, customers use the Uber app to book boat rides and will go on speedboats whose capacity is six people.

For now, the service will be available on two routes, including Gateway of India to Elephanta and Gateway of India to Mandwa Jetty which are famous tourists attractions. Users have to pay from Rs 5,700 to 9,500 for each boat to use the service. At the price of Rs 9,500, the boat can carry ten or more customers on one ride.
In addition, Uber wants to reduce the travel time between places using speedboats. The company claims that it takes speedboats about 20 minutes to carry passengers on this route, compared with approximately an hour by conventional boats.

For a long time, sea transport has been chosen by Mumbai residents to travel between destinations around the city. Mumbai Port Trust, according to a report from Times of India, reveals that people have had the demand for transport measures over the water between south Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. In the meantime, however, ride-hailing company Uber hasn’t announced any routes for its UberBOAT service in the future.
Uber, established in March 2009, is a transportation network company whose headquarter is located in San Francisco, California. Before its current name, the company used to be called UberCab from 2009 to 2011. It provides several services including ride-hailing, peer-to-peer ridesharing, a system for bicycle sharing, and food delivery. Uber has approximately 100 million monthly users, according to statistics in 2016-2018, and in 2018, the company occupied 69 percent of market share in the United States. the company has thrived to cover somewhat 785 metropolitan areas around the world.
