Tata Sky offers two options for its broadband plans, Unlimited plans and Fix GB plans. The Fixed GB plans give users different data caps depending on which package they subscribe to. Meanwhile, the Unlimited plans don’t put any speed caps or data caps for users.
However, the telco has changed the policy and will now have a speed cap with a threshold of 1500GB data. The fine print, which is available on the company’s website, says that after using up 1500GB of high-speed data, users of unlimited plans will be switched to normal speed at 2Mbps.
The terms and conditions on the website of Tata Sky have been changed for unlimited plans. The new condition reads:
“For Unlimted Data plans, speed will reduce to 2Mbps after 1500GB data consumption.”
The telecommunication provider offers its Unlimited plans with different validity, including annual, 6 months, 3 months, and 1 month, with prices starting from Rs 900. In terms of data speed, these plans allow users to use the internet between 25Mbps and 100Mbps. Right now, Tata Sky is offering a 15% discount on the annual plans along with a 10% reduction on 6-month plans.
Late last month, a new poster on the company's website suggested that the company would launch a free landline service for users, which would help the telco compete with Jio Fiber and Airtel. Tata Sky users will get unlimited voice calling under the broadband plans, which currently cost Rs 900 per month.
