It has been a few months since, for the first time, Reliance Jio rolled out its new broadband plan: Jio GigaFiber which has been under test in many cities. The company hasn’t given any official statement relating to the first places where users can access this broadband.
Several online reports have revealed that Jio GigaFiber FTTH broadband services will be launched first in the 29 cities in India.
Here is the list of those cities: Bangalore, Allahabad, Agra, Chennai, Coimbatore, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Bhpal, Pune, Kanpur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Thane, Ghaziabad, Indore, Madhurai, Nashik, Ludhiana, Rajkot, Srinagar, Meerut, Faridabad, Kota, Jodhpur, Ranchi, Patna, Solapur, and Guwahati.
They have been the first cities with the maximum registrations of Jio GigaFiber service since Reliance Jio officially stated on August 2018 that it would bring Jio GigaFiber back on its website. Until now, the company has said no word about the launch date of this broadband plan.
For those unknown, Reliance Jio has been under the operation of Mukesh Ambani and according to its plan, the Jio GigaFiber FTTH broadband services will be covered in about 1100 cities in India. Of which, FTTH stands for Fibre To The Home. That shows some ambition of the company in the telecom field.
At this time, Reliance Jio has brought the service to about 900 cities among the 1100 expected cities. To experience the service, users will have to set up a router also manufactured by the company. It is Jio GigaRouter. Moreover, they also have a chance to enjoy the feature voice command integrated into a smart remote.
The new service plan can provide an ultra-fast internet connection with a speed up to 1Gbps; and hence, streaming 4K resolution videos will become much easier. The same thing also occurs in playing virtual reality games.
The preferential policies Reliance Jio is planning to apply for its users over those of other companies include a reduced charge level of 50%. At the moment, the monthly service plan payment set up by its competitors is about Rs 700 – Rs 1000.
